Classroom refurbishment — Rainbow Montessori School in Sunnyvale, CA
- We removed old and worn glued down carpet and vinyl composition floor tiles.
- The sub floor was scraped clean and smoothed with Ardex smoothing compound.
- We then installed Mohawk low level loop carpet tiles to the main classroom seating area.
- The practical and wet area of the classroom was installed with a Mohawk commercial click luxury vinyl plank floating floor.
- Due to the style of installation and materials used, it was possible to join the two surfaces together without the need for an unsightly transition strip.
Commercial solid vinyl project
- Commercial solid vinyl project, completed using Tarkett 2mm Solid Vinyl sheet, all seams heat welded.
- The existing floor was an old vinyl sheet with serious subfloor issues.
- We removed all the existing vinyl, cut out loose subfloor and removed all latent defects.
- We then had to prime the floor before completely with Ardex P-51, before completely smoothing the area with Ardex V-1000 self leveling compound.
- This was carried out to two laboratories that will be carrying out microbiological testing.
- This was a particular testing project as we only had a week to complete it, as well as there being center support posts to work around so setting out was a big issue.
- The rooms were completed using Johnsonite TSB 4" rubber base, supplied and installed in coil format to prevent wall base seams that we would have had with the 4' individual lengths that are normally used.
Luxor Floors Install - Pre-school at Rise City Church, Redwood City, CA
This installation is Tarkett TRANSCEND™ SURESET™, a floating style floor. Unlike a click floor, each tile can be removed and reinstalled completely independently. This floor is dimensionally stable, commercial rated, and fully flexible.
